The Department of International Business and Supply Chain Management in the Bissett School of Business at Mount Royal University (MRU) invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor. The position will commence July 01, 2017.
Tenure-track faculty are hired into one of two work patterns – the teaching/scholarship/service (TSS) pattern or the teaching/service (TS) pattern. The TSS pattern has a focus on teaching with the requirement that the faculty member be involved in a research program as well as service to the Mount Royal community and the TS pattern has a focus on teaching and service only.
The preferred candidate will have teaching and professional legal experience, be able to teach introductory and senior level law courses, demonstrate an interest in curriculum and program development and show evidence of a research program in an area relevant to legal studies in business. The successful candidate will become an integral member of our International Business and Supply Chain Management team, be required to actively liaise with international industry partners or professional associations on behalf of the Bissett School of Business and be involved with course and program development.
A completed LL.B./J.D. and evidence of post graduate work by the time of appointment is required; for example, an LL.M., PhD/Doctorate or work towards a PhD/Doctorate. The successful candidate should have a minimum of five years’ professional experience in law in addition to teaching experience at the post-secondary level. Wisdom in developing curricula that infuses Indigenous content and ways of knowing into the BBA and experience in one or more of the following will also be considered an asset: Business Law, Intellectual Property Law, International Trade Law, Global Business Environment, Doing Business in Emerging and/or Developing Markets. The candidate’s degrees must qualify the candidate for membership in the Law Society of Alberta.
