Postdoctoral Research Fellow, School of Health Services Management, Ryerson University

The School of Health Services Management at Ryerson University is seeking a full-time Postdoctoral Research Fellow. The researcher would assist with a series of studies focused on understanding the outcomes and challenges of systems, such as home telemonitoring, for the provision of care in the community, to patients with chronic diseases and conditions, such as diabetes and hypertension. He or she will be working under the supervision of Julien Meyer and Karen Spalding.

Job description
The candidate will have an opportunity to participate in preparing manuscripts for publication.
Responsibilities for this position include:
Study coordination and oversight of study procedures
Supervision of data collection and management
Assistance with data analysis and interpretation
Preparation of manuscripts for publication and grant applications

The salary for the contract is $45,000, plus benefits. Relocation expenses are not reimbursed. The anticipated start date is June 1, 2017, and the duration is 12 months. International applicants are welcome to apply, but priority will be given to Canadian citizens or applicants with a valid Canadian working visa.

The ideal candidate has strong research potential, is highly motivated and has a strong background in telemedicine research. Other requirements are:
Completion of a Ph.D. in Health Administration or in Management Information Systems with a focus on healthcare . Must have earned a first doctorate from an accredited doctoral program by the time the position starts, and no earlier than September 2014 (date all degree requirements were completed, not the date of graduation), or have completed a first doctorate no earlier than September 2011, but have since had their career interrupted or delayed for the purpose of maternity, childrearing, illness, or health-related family responsibilities
Content knowledge of research on telemedicine, ideally with some experience on telemonitoring research
Proficiency in statistical analysis programs and/or qualitative methodologies
Strong interpersonal, communication and organization skills
