Athabasca University’s Faculty of Business is seeking applicants for part-time academic coaches in AU’s online MBA program. Athabasca University’s Faculty of Business is home to the world’s first online MBA, now Canada’s largest MBA program with approximately 800 active students, and 60 faculty members and academic coaches in locations throughout the world including Canada, the United States, Europe and Japan. The program is delivered online through a stimulating and highly collaborative learning environment. In 2009, Athabasca University launched an online Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) program, the first of its kind in Canada.
Successful candidates for part-time coaching positions will hold a PhD in a related discipline and have a combination of relevant teaching experience and research. Preference will be given to applicants with relevant management or consulting experience. Applicants must be skilled in the use of computing technology and demonstrate an ability to employ innovative teaching approaches in an adult learning environment.
Coaching online is challenging, and academic coaches must be able to help students learn by facilitating group and online learning discussions. Successful candidates will share the excitement of advancing technological innovation in graduate business education through the global delivery of online business management courses. Full training and mentoring are provided.
