The Shannon School of Business at CBU invites applications for a tenure-track position in Management at the rank of Assistant Professor to commence in August 2018 (or shortly thereafter).

CBU, an institution with extensive global connections, is located on world-renowned Cape Breton Island, a region highly regarded for creativity, diversity, innovation, and hospitality. The Shannon School of Business delivers a variety of programs including BBA, BHTM, and MBA. Teaching assignments will be at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Teaching courses will include organizational behaviour, human resource management, leadership, change management, and strategic management.

Candidates should have a PhD, or its equivalent, or be in the later stages of their PhD program. The School is seeking collaborative individuals who have the potential to perform sponsored research, enrich teaching, and contribute actively to the life of the school community.

CBU teaches programs on campus, off campus in locations across and outside of Canada, and on-line. The university and its partners will therefore provide opportunities for faculty members to teach in different modes in different locations as part of their regular workload. While these opportunities may not be available equally for all faculty positions in all programs, a clear willingness to teach in different modes and locations will be noted as part of your application.

The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to the field of postsecondary education and the status and authority required to contribute to the overall leadership of Lethbridge College. Highly developed communication skills and experience building effective and successful relationships with a diverse array of constituents are necessary. An advanced degree in a related discipline and a trades certification are preferred, an understanding of and appreciation for the diversity of programming within the Centre is essential.
