Tenure track position, Supply Chain Management, Faculty of Business Administration – Memorial University of Newfoundland

The Faculty of Business Administration is committed to excellence and relevance in its teaching, research and community engagement. Applications are invited for a tenure-track faculty position in Supply Chain Management at the rank of assistant professor with a proposed commencement date of July 1, 2020. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The position is subject to budgetary approval.

Applicants should have or be very near completion of a PhD or a DBA in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or Logistics (or a related field), a demonstrated capacity to consider the strategic, integrative, and soft relational aspects of supply chain management and manufacturing networks. Applicants must have demonstrated research productivity commensurate with the rank of assistant professor and a commitment to teaching and research in a university environment. If the successful candidate has not completed an earned doctorate, they shall be appointed to a regular term, non-renewable three-year appointment at the rank of assistant professor. If the candidate completes all the requirements for the doctorate during the first 24 months of the term appointment, they shall begin a tenure-track appointment following completion of the requirements of the degree.

Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in diverse functional areas of business (human resources management, strategy, marketing, finance, etc.) and an interest in multidisciplinary research using a wide array of qualitative and quantitative methodologies. An interest for innovative course delivery, experiential learning, and online/hybrid teaching would be an advantage. Applicants with practitioner experience will be given priority. The successful candidate will be expected to be actively involved in a new proposed Centre of Excellence in Sales and Supply Chain Management, to build upon existing institutional research strengths, to contribute to the strong relationship between the Faculty of Business Administration and the Faculties of Science and of Engineering and Applied Science at Memorial University, and to lead an applied research program in areas that are strategically important for Memorial University and the province of Newfoundland and Labrador.

The Faculty of Business Administration is a leader in management education and is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). Approximately 2,100 students are registered in the undergraduate programs of the Faculty, with another 200 students completing graduate programs, including a PhD and M.Sc. in Management.
