Tenure-Track Position in Strategy & Organization, Desautels Faculty of Management, McGill University

Position Summary
The Strategy and Organization (S&O) area in the Desautels Faculty of Management at McGill University is recruiting for one or more tenure-track positions at the rank of assistant professor and/or associate professor, subject to budgetary approval. The start date for the position is August 1st, 2018. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in management, strategy, or organization theory. Applicants with a research and teaching agenda focused on international business, sustainability, or innovation / entrepreneurship are especially welcome; applicants in other sub-disciplines will be considered, as will applicants from relevant disciplinary departments. In addition, the applicant must have demonstrated research proficiency through publication in top-tier academic journals, and possess a superior teaching and academic service record.
Applicants possessing outstanding potential, both as a researcher and a teacher, who are recent doctoral graduates or who plan to have completed the requirements for their Ph.D. by December 2018 may also be considered.

Assistant Professor, Tenure-Track, International Business, Mount Royal University

An exciting opportunity exists in the School of Business (SB) for a tenure-track position as Assistant Professor, International Business, commencing July 1, 2017. The SB is a primary destination for undergraduate students seeking high quality business education. The school employs 100+ faculty, over half of whom are full-time. The faculty is comprised of a highly motivated group of scholars, who are passionate about teaching while engaged in innovative scholarship. In order to support its objectives, the BSB benefits from the associated Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship and the Institute for Community Prosperity; making the school unique among Canadian undergraduate business schools.

The school offers a four-year Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree. Students can pursue majors in accounting, general management, human resources, or marketing. All students in the BBA are required to take a Global Business Environment course. The school also offers many minors such as business and society, innovation and entrepreneurship, and social innovation. A concentration in International Business is available to BBA students. Students who complete the International concentration may also apply for a Forum for International Trade Training certificate and diploma. Duties:
The Assistant Professor, International Business, will be required to actively liaise with international industry partners and professional associations on behalf of the school and be involved with course and program development.

New faculty are hired into one of two work patterns. The teaching/scholarship/service (TSS) pattern has a focus on teaching with the requirement that the faculty member be involved in a research program as well as service to the Mount Royal community. The teaching/service (TS) pattern has a focus on teaching and service only. There is an option to change work patterns after tenure. Faculty in the TSS pattern are expected to establish a high quality research program. For this position, we are seeking to hire a candidate suitable for the TSS pattern.

Qualifications:
A completed PhD/Doctorate with a minimum of five years’ business experience in addition to teaching experience at the post-secondary level is required. Industry experience in international business, curriculum development, and evidence of a successful research program is required. The ideal applicant will have an active research agenda, and be engaged in the international academic and local entrepreneurial community. Experience in cross cultural management, global business environment, and conducting business in emerging/developing markets is an asset. Wisdom in developing curricula that infuses Indigenous content and ways of knowing into the BBA is also an asset.
