Tenure Track Position, Supply Chain Management, Asper School of Business – University of Manitoba

The Department of Supply Chain Management (SCM) at the Asper School of Business, University of Manitoba, invites applications for a tenure-track position of Assistant or Associate Professor in Supply Chain Management with a strong background in areas such as Lean Management, Project Management, and/or Logistics focus. The Asper School of Business is accredited by the AACSB and is the major business school in the province of Manitoba. The School offers undergraduate, MBA, M.Sc., and Ph.D. degrees. The Department of SCM was established July 1, 2004, bringing together eight scholars of transportation, supply chain management, management science, and operations management, including the Director of the Transport Institute (http://www.umti.ca). The Department of SCM and the Transport Institute share a joint mandate to become a Centre of Excellence in Logistics, Transportation, and Supply Chain Management.

Responsibilities :
Duties include research, teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels, and professional service for the School, the University, and the community. The normal teaching load at the Asper school is four courses (e.g., 2 + 2). Salary is competitive and will depend on qualifications, experience, as well as research and teaching record.

Qualifications :
Candidates must have completed or have nearly completed a Ph.D. or DBA in Operations management and Supply chain Management or a closely-related field. For this position, we are seeking candidates that would complement the current research profile of the department. This position require strong research orientation and candidates should have a strong record of high-quality publications or a promising research agenda and the potential to publish in top-tier journals (commensurate with their experience). To be considered at the Associate level, candidates must have demonstrated a strong record of high quality publications, strong leadership skills, evidence of graduate student supervision, and evidence of effective teaching.

Ideally, candidates should have the ability to teach in one or more of the areas of Operations Management and Supply Chain Management.
